With a strong focus on systems change and sustainable workforce solutions, Gabriel has recently been recognized for his efforts, participating in programs like the Climate Drift Accelerator and the Transformative Water Leadership Academy. We had the opportunity to catch up with Gabriel to learn more about his work, his journey, and what’s next for thebulletinboard.

Wild Gift: What is thebulletinboard, and what inspired you to start it?

Gabriel: thebulletinboard is a virtual community designed to connect people with access and opportunities in the Energy, Environment, Climate, Water, and Sustainability (EECWS) sectors, as well as in public service and social impact careers. Our mission is to educate Black professionals, students, and communities about these sectors and how they impact daily life while simultaneously providing access to job opportunities and economic advancement.

I started thebulletinboard because I saw a critical gap in workforce representation within these fields. Underrepresented communities, particularly Black individuals, face systemic barriers to employment in the energy and environmental industries. Our platform creates a nexus between educational institutions, businesses, utilities, nonprofits, and talented individuals to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce pipeline.

WG: What exciting projects are you currently working on?

Gabriel: Right now, I’m focused on designing and implementing systems that drive workforce development and skill-building. Many sectors recognize the need for change but struggle with integrated solutions—so I’m helping organizations build programs tailored to both their immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce sustainability.

Recently, I was accepted into the Climate Drift Accelerator, an eight-week program exploring climate initiatives. I’m also expanding my network through Wild Gift and the Transformative Water Leadership Academy, where I’m working on systems that drive real change across multiple industries. It’s an exciting time to be shaping the future of workforce equity and sustainability.

WG: What has inspired you most throughout your founding journey?

Gabriel: What inspires me is seeing organizations—whether utilities, private companies, or startups—acknowledge the need for change. Many industries are beginning to have tough conversations about workforce challenges, and it’s clear that transformation requires more than just filling a job. It’s about creating equitable career pathways that allow individuals to grow and thrive.

At the heart of my work is systems change—moving beyond short-term hiring solutions to building sustainable, long-term career opportunities that benefit both workers and industries.

WG: What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned since launching thebulletinboard?

Gabriel: One of the biggest insights I’ve gained is that while many people recognize workforce issues, few are willing—or know how—to take the first step. Depending on their institution or industry, leaders often feel isolated in their challenges. I’ve learned that collaboration is essential—organizations don’t have to solve these issues alone. By fostering spaces for cross-industry dialogue, we can strengthen workforce and organizational development together.

WG: What’s next for you and thebulletinboard?

Gabriel: This year, I’m focusing on expanding my work in systems change for workforce development. I want to help organizations build sustainable hiring and career pathways that go beyond short-term fixes. My goal is to provide businesses with the tools and strategies they need to develop strong, adaptable teams while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.

I’ll also be participating in the Climate Drift Accelerator and continuing collaborations with Wild Gift and the Transformative Water Leadership Academy. Additionally, as a Business Designer for the W.P. Carey New Venture Challenge, I’ll be working with entrepreneurs to refine their businesses and secure funding for long-term success.

Excitingly, thebulletinboard is launching a research arm this year! This initiative will allow us to dive deeper into workforce trends, organizational development, and industry challenges—providing data-driven insights to drive meaningful change across sectors.

WG: Are there ways the Wild Gift community can support your work?

Gabriel: Absolutely! I’m open to all forms of collaboration, particularly in supporting organizations as they navigate workforce development, hiring, and operational growth. If you’re working in workforce innovation or talent development and are interested in partnering, I’d love to connect.

WG: How can people stay connected with thebulletinboard?

Gabriel: You can visit our website at thebulletinboard.info to stay updated on our work and upcoming initiatives.

We’re grateful to Gabriel for sharing his journey and the impactful work he’s doing through thebulletinboard. His commitment to workforce transformation and industry-wide collaboration is truly inspiring.
