My mentoring expertise as it relates to the ‘stewardship of wild nature’ part of Wild Gift’s mission is the outdoor adventure recreation/business field and wildlands interpretation/education.

For the rest of calendar year 2011, I’m available to mentor on a part-time basis.

My work history: Founder/Executive Director/Board of Wild Gift 2002 to Present. Founder/Operator/Guide of Sun Valley Trekking (www.svtrek.com) 1982- 2001. Middle School teacher and US Forest Service Wilderness Ranger/Idaho 1974-80. Fishery Biologist in Idaho/Alaska/Greenland 1965 – 73. Also, Professional Ski Instructor Sun Valley, Idaho and author of Ski Magazine’s ‘Total Skiing’ book. Educated at the universities of Wyoming and Idaho. My home country is central Idaho where I love to explore and learn about the wild with family, friends and my partner Sarah Michael while backpacking, boating, skiing, fishing and hunting. My special siren is ‘deep wilderness’, exploring the largest landscapes of North America not dominated by the footprints of humankind. In this regard, Alaska is my second home.
