It is the mission of Cody’s Wild Gift Project – Ozarks Agricultural Revival at Falling Sky Farm – to establish a profitable, environmentally friendly demonstration farm in the Ozarks (Arkansas), which promotes a local food system that produces nutrient rich foods, works in harmony with nature, and reinvigorates the local economy by 2010. In the first year, Cody established a profitable, diversified, sustainable livestock farm and strengthened the local food system by implementing a network of online farmer’s markets across Central Arkansas. In his second year, the farm has provided a living wage for two people, serves as a practical think tank hosting farming seminars, and works with local schools and 4-H clubs. Cody and the farm were featured as the cover story in the June 2009 issue of Rural Arkansas magazine, which reaches over 400,000 people.
