Wild Gift Project: Now Coming to a Town Near You

Website: www.atownnearyou.com

Gina’s Wild Gift project – Now Coming to a Town Near You – was to write and self-publish a book that takes a critical look at urban sprawl and the many problems it brings. Her mission is to inspire a change of heart, creating readers who wish to defend and preserve the unique character, quality of community, and purity of wildness in the places they call home. Gina has sold over 600 copies of her book with the same title as her project. The book is in a second printing and, since publication, Gina has been invited to speak at dozens of events ranging from green expos to classrooms to adult learners’ circles. By donating a portion of the book’s proceeds, she has raised over $1,500 for The Conservation Foundation, a local nonprofit devoted to protecting farmland and open space that would otherwise be lost to development. Gina continues to promote and distribute her book, particularly in critical areas that lie in the path of suburban development. An accomplished artist in several mediums, Gina left her corporate job at a Chicago advertising agency to work mornings at an independent coffee shop where she gets the chance to know the people in her community and the freedom to pursue art – her way. This includes serving as a graphic designer to the Wild Gift Network working on publishing and media projects like the first Wild Gift Leader Album. Gina’s book may be purchased at her website.
