Back to Work!
As I started my re-entry process I began to feel overwhelmed by the emails and reality that quickly hit me as I made my journey back to Minnesota to begin my senior year at the University of St Thomas. None the less, I am coming off an amazing life- changing trek that has given me a new perspective on life, and a natural high that I’m eager to pursue again. Having a 22 hour drive ahead of me, I had plenty of time to sit back and reflect on the trek and the past 25 days. Pulling over frequently to gather my thoughts as I try to catch one more trout of the summer! I sat on the banks of the river as I was thinking about the life lessons that I have gained from the trek. I made lifelong friends that I look forward to building our relationships. Glowing with confidence and a new sense of leadership I am filled with gratitude and strength. Shaking my head and having to pinch myself thinking of what I had just accomplished and the things that are to come in the near future.
Finally arriving in MN I moved back into my college house and got organized for classes, hockey and my side job as a bar tender all while wanting nothing more to just work on my Wild Gift project. Being in the mountains and surrounding yourself with amazing people brings you a sense of comfort and clarity that you can’t get any other way. After about two weeks on the trail you start experiencing a natural high that comes with a stress free and confident mind set.
In the amount of time that I have been off the trails my project has picked up speed. The team of amazing people that I have been working with in Truckee, California is pushing to get goals accomplished. We have been playing around with logos and recipes. The graphics are looking sharp and the recipes taste amazing!
I am excited for the upcoming stages of my project and can’t wait to have some samples ready for Christmas break back in Sun Valley, ID! To follow me, and the PlayHard GiveBack team, go to playhardgiveback.com or “Like” us on facebook!
Until next time,
